Jennifer Kline, the creator behind ‘June Cleavers Vintage Closet’, first started her Instagram and Facebook pages to sell some of her own vintage clothes. “I quickly came up with the name—June Cleavers Closet—and started sharing other vintage content too, like retro decor, old ads, vintage recipes, and classic fashion,” she told Bored Panda.
Kline has always felt a strong connection to the past, especially the 1950s to 1980s. “I grew up in the 1980s, and my childhood home, built in 1972, had a lot of Spanish Mediterranean decor. That’s why I really love the 70s style. What some people think is tacky or too bold, I see as beautiful—especially in those perfectly preserved time capsule homes,” she shared.
She believes her content connects with people because it brings back happy childhood memories. “I hear all the time that my posts help people remember special moments they had forgotten. On my page, there’s no room for hate or politics—just kindness and shared love for all things vintage,” Kline added.

Jennifer Kline shared that her page has grown into a warm and welcoming vintage community. “There’s a lot of nostalgia, but also humor—and many people have even made friendships through the page. I’ve been told it’s a bright spot in someone’s day,” she said.
She continues to post because she truly enjoys it—and so do her followers. “It brings people joy,” she added.
Kline loves finding and sharing unique vintage ads, rare photos, and retro time capsule homes, which her audience really appreciates. “When I post vintage recipes, I even wear matching retro outfits—it adds a fun touch,” she said. Her fashion favorites are from the 1960s and 1970s, and yes, she even loves double-knit polyester!
When it comes to homes, cars, and design, Kline says she doesn’t stick to just one era. “Even though my page is called June Cleavers Closet, I love and share content from all decades, not just the ’50s.”
She also joked that one reason her page is so popular might be the bizarre recipes she shares. “The good, the bad, and the wretched vintage recipes really grab attention!” Kline told Bored Panda with a laugh.

Jennifer Kline, the creator of June Cleavers Vintage Closet, shared how her love for vintage recipes turned into something fun—and hilarious. “I’ve always been a foodie, and I was fascinated by how much gelatin was used in old recipes. One day, I got curious and decided to try some out… on my poor, unsuspecting husband,” she laughed. “Now he’s lovingly known as **‘Mr. Cleavers.’”
She began filming his unfiltered reactions, and people online loved it. “He just says exactly what he thinks. We have fun doing it, and our followers really enjoy watching it too.”
The first retro recipe she ever tested on him? A bologna cake. “It looked like a real cake, so you can imagine his surprise when he cut into it and found out it was bologna,” she said. The best part? He actually hates bologna!
Since then, her husband has bravely faced some of the most questionable vintage dishes—like lime tuna Jell-O, spinach egg sardine molds, and a few of Jennifer’s own wild recipe combos. But he’s also gotten to enjoy some truly delicious vintage desserts and baked goods.
“Now he’s become a fan favorite on the page. People love his reactions. He’s been such a good sport through it all,” Jennifer added.
